A passionate specialist in the fields of Medical & Surgical Retina, including vitreo-retinal surgery, diabetes, macular degeneration, cataract, and OCT angiography.
Previously
Stewart trained in ophthalmology and vitreo-retinal surgery at the Oxford Eye Hospital, Oxford; Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham; and the Sydney Eye Hospital.
Helping those in need
Stewart is a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University. He is the senior retinal specialist at Flinders Medical Centre, responsible for teaching and training Australian and international medical graduates. He is a visiting retinal specialist to Alice Springs Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital. He provides ophthalmic care to the indigenous communities of the Kakarrara Wilurarra Health Alliance at Yalata, Oak Valley, and Tjuntjuntjara in South and Western Australia. He is part of ongoing collaborative research at Flinders University to improve the care of diabetic indigenous Australians.
The other side to Stewart
Stewart is married with one child and enjoys triathlons.
