Vanetta Polyak

Vanetta is an Orthoptist with a special interest in paediatric and adult strabismus. She consults independently, offering private orthoptic services at our Morphett Vale rooms once a month. These services include paediatric vision assessments, assessment of eye movement disorders, strabismus, diplopia and amblyopia management, and binocular vision restoration, using exercises or fresnel prisms.

Vanetta began working at Eyemedics in 2013, after completing a bachelor of a Health Science at Adelaide University. She completed her post-graduate studies at Latrobe University in Melbourne at the end of 2017, graduating with a Masters of Orthoptics. She gained a great deal of experience in Adult and Paediatric Strabismus while completing her clinical placements at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Women’s and Children’s Hospital & Christchurch Hospital in 2017.

Vanetta covers a wide range of areas at Eyemedics, including clinal assessments for the consulting ophthalmologists, performing IOL lens calculations for cataract surgery, and is heavily involved in training students from LTU and UTS. Since 2020, Vanetta has been a representative for Orthoptics Australia, organising and delivering professional development to her colleagues in SA.
