Specialist fields and passions
Tim is a specialist eye surgeon with expertise in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and retinal conditions including macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. He has a special interest in managing patients with inflammatory eye diseases. He is committed to providing high quality, patient-focused care.
Previous training & experience
Graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery, Tim completed his specialist training in South Australia and was granted fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2018. After successfully finishing his first four years of training, he undertook a 15-month subspecialty fellowship in uveitis and medical ophthalmology at the Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Oxford, UK.
Research & other interests
Outside of routine ophthalmology practice, Tim has worked with the Adelaide-based charity Sight For All, with projects focused on training eye doctors and decreasing the burden of eye disease amongst Indigenous Australians and in the developing world. He has published several research papers and is keenly interested in education and teaching for doctors in training and other healthcare professionals.
